The C.V. Starr Community Center and Sigrid & Harry Spath Aquatic Facility is now under construction and our long-awaited dream is coming to fruition. Here's a special way for you to contribute, put your personal signature on the finished product, and demonstrate your support for the new Center.
The Mendocino Coast Recreation & Park District is planning to decorate the interior walls of the facility with your personal messages, photos and artwork, rendered in durable ceramic tile. Take this opportunity to honor a friend, portray your family, or craft a goodwill message, and help raise funds to complete the project. Purchase a gift tile for a friend or family member, and we will send a gift card and instructions in your name.
How to Participate
- MCRPD staff can create a tile image for you from your photo, drawing, and/or text.
- You provide the artwork ready to scan (11″ x 17″ max), or in a digital format.
- You can gift the opportunity to create a tile to a friend, family member, or colleague.
How to Submit Your Artwork
- Fill out the online form on our website. Follow the prompts and upload your artwork or components. Mail your payment or pay with paypal online.
- Drop off or mail printed material, or a CD of digital components, to the MCRPD office in Fort Bragg. Fill out and include this form with your submittal.
- Check the gift box section on the submittal form, and we will send a gift card and instructions to whomever you specify.

- 6″ x 6″ tiles = $150 each
- 4 tiles (12″ x 12″ image) = $550
- 6 tiles (12″ x 18″ image) = $800
- 9 tiles (18″ x 18″ image) = $1200
- 12 tiles (18″ x 24″ image) = $1500
Tile Art Contest
MCRPD will review tile submissions twice per year in June and December, and award an Annual Family Pass for the best tile art in the following categories:- Recreation
- Faces or People
- Marine Life or Nature
