FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
Mendocino Coast Recreation & Park District
CV Starr Community Center
Fort Bragg, CA – November 15, 2019
The competition and leisure pool basins at the C.V. Starr Community Center in Fort Bragg needs major rehabilitation. Both pools are in very poor condition and have been extensively patched for the last several years.
The scope of the repair project includes the rehabilitation, removal and replacement of the plaster in the competition pool, leisure pool and lazy river. The work includes the installation of new pool finishes and the addition of four cup anchors to attach lane lines for segmentation of the leisure pool during swim lessons. The total budget for this work is $350,000 and was authorized to be funded by the CV Starr Capital Repair & Equipment Reserve.

This year, thirteen businesses and six bid Plan Room companies were contacted after the advertisement for a second bid was sent out. A brief discussion was held regarding the project and the time period scheduled for the job. A motion was made by Councilmember Albin-Smith, seconded by Councilmember Morsell-Haye, that this Resolution be adopted. The motion was carried unanimously by the City Council. City Council adopted a resolution Authorizing the City Manager to execute a contract with Earl Adams Tile-Coping & Plastering, Inc. dba Adams Pool Solutions in an amount not to exceed $237,500.00.
