🏈🔥 WHAT A SEASON! MCRPD JR. NFL FLAG FOOTBALL 2026! 🔥🏈

What an incredible summer for MCRPD Jr. NFL Flag Football!

This season, more than 90 young athletes from Gualala to Fort Bragg took the field across three grade divisions — K–2, 3rd–5th, and 6th–8th — for a summer filled with competition, teamwork, friendships, confidence, and FUN!

And what a place to play! 🌊🏈 Week after week, our athletes competed on the beautiful field in Mendocino with the incredible Pacific Ocean as the backdrop. It doesn't get much better than youth sports on the Mendocino Coast!

But the biggest story of 2026 is simple:

🚀 WE ARE GROWING, GROWING, GROWING! 🚀

More kids are discovering flag football, more families are getting involved, and the excitement surrounding this program continues to build. We are already looking ahead to an even BIGGER 2027 season!

⭐ OUR VOLUNTEER COACHES ARE THE HEART OF THIS PROGRAM! ⭐

We cannot say THANK YOU enough to the incredible people who volunteered their time to coach our athletes this summer:

🏈 Kasey Hofer

🏈 Fred Bowman

🏈 Aaron Allen

🏈 Marco Ruano

🏈 Brian Orey

🏈 Jeff Ynzunza

🏈 Daniel Gravelin

🏈 Erik Kamstra

🏈 Matthew Johnson

🏈Victor Rodriguez

MCRPD presented "Coach of the Year" to coaches of the LV Raiders and the Baltimore Ravens, Jeff Ynzunza and Brian Orey, and Victor Rodriguez for coaching the Chicago Bears and the New England Patriots.

It was also incredible having our two Fort Bragg High Football stars, Daniel Gravelin and Erik Kamstra coach and mentor the kids in our program. We hope to get more high school athletes for our future programs to do the same in all sports that we offer.

These coaches gave our players so much more than football instruction.

They gave them their time. Their patience. Their encouragement. Their knowledge. Their energy. And most importantly, their belief in them.

Our coaches taught teamwork, accountability, sportsmanship, perseverance and confidence. They celebrated successes, helped kids work through challenges and created an environment where athletes could learn, compete and have fun.

Our volunteer coaches make programs like this possible.

To every one of you: THANK YOU for showing up for our kids and our community. We appreciate you more than you know! ❤️

💚🏈 AND LET'S TALK ABOUT OUR GIRLS! 🏈💚

One of the most exciting parts of this season was watching our girls absolutely SHOW OUT!

They threw the football. They caught passes. They scored. They defended. They pulled flags. They competed. And they proved that football belongs to them, too.

Girls flag football is one of the fastest-growing areas of youth sports, and we are incredibly excited about what that means for young female athletes here on the Mendocino Coast.

Flag football builds confidence, speed, coordination, leadership, resilience, friendships and teamwork — and we want even MORE girls taking the field with us next year!

Whether you've played football before or have never touched a football in your life, there is a place for you in this league.

To our players, parents, families, volunteers, supporters and everyone who cheered from the sidelines — THANK YOU for making the 2026 season such a success.

More players.

More girls.

More teams.

More friendships.

More opportunities.

And we're nowhere near finished.

🔥🏈 GET READY FOR 2027! 🏈🔥

If you watched this summer and thought, “My kid would love this,” we want you with us next season!

FROM GUALALA TO WESTPORT — ONE COAST. ONE COMMUNITY. ONE TEAM.

💚 PLAY. CONNECT. INSPIRE. 💚
