Taekwondo

Taekwondo is a martial art system of ancient Korean fighting techniques. The style has many similarities with Karate, and place a special emphasis on powerful kicks. Sun Yi's Traditional Taekwondo is a school within the Taekwondo system. Traditional Taekwondo emphasizes maximum power with deep stances and intense focus. There are over 3000 blackbelts in the Sun Yi's Tradtional Taekwondo Academy.
Tae Kwon Do developed independently in Korea and has become the most respected sport in Korea. In the past, Tae Kwon Do has been called “Korean karate” or “kicking karate,” as it is known for having developed some of the most powerful kicking techniques of the world’s martial arts. The Modern Art of Tae Kwon Do, is traced to founder General Choi and makes use of many modern scientific understandings of biomechanics and sports performance. In 1988, Tae Kwon Do was a demonstration sport at the Summer Olympics in Seoul, and in 2000 became a full medal sport in the Summer Olympic Games in Sydney, Australia.
