YOUTH AIKIDO!! (AGES 10-15)

BIG NEWS FOR YOUTH MARTIAL ARTS! MCRPD now offers Kids Aikido!

Help your child build confidence, find their focus, and make new friends! Our Kids Aikido program combines movement, practical self-defense, and valuable life skills in a positive, encouraging environment.

More than movement—skills for life!

Kids will work on:

  • Focus, calm, and coordination
  • Self-esteem and confidence
  • Practical self-defense skills
  • Physical and emotional resilience
  • Conflict resolution and leadership
  • Making friends and having fun!

Practice peace. Build strength. Grow confidence.
Aikido is a nonviolent, noncompetitive martial art that emphasizes harmony, balance, and redirecting aggression. We teach children to approach conflict calmly, choose peaceful solutions, and develop skills to protect themselves when needed.

Through guided practice, kids will learn rolling, safe break-falls, basic hand and footwork, and techniques that connect movement with mental focus. Training will also explore grounding, ki—the connection between energy and intention—and atemi, movements used to help create openings in a technique. Traditional practice weapons will be introduced later in the curriculum.
